Star Wars TOR cluster-post.
Old OC: Magi Kalem / Ancient Golem Statue
Basically this guy was the precursor to the modern “Bowser Statues” that you see sometimes breathing fire at
plumbers intruders. My idea (deriving inspiration from various old myths) was what if the original statue was based off of sickle-throwing Koopa warriors (proto Hammer Bros) as a magical servant. Problem was, the inventor was murdered by his less magically-strong brother out of envy and his ashes were used to make the first statue’s ‘heart’. Kalem’s soul got lodged in there as a battery.
Attached to this: Magikoopas were originally the Order of Magus, a religious group that believed magic was a divine blessing. The stronger the magic, the greater your favor with the god(s).
Quick doodle of my Unicorn OC, Honey Bee. I’m away from my scanner so I had to make due with my mp3 player’s built in camera.
Random Idea: Disney RPG.
This is one of the (imaginary) boss fights of the Agrabah region of the game. The entire game is various countries in Disney’s canon set in a single world. This means depending on the general era set, you would be able to explore Agrabah, peek into Hades, and kick Hun butt.
In the case of Boss Form 1 Jafar, his only special attack would be Hypnoteyes, which would randomly cause Berserk status, Charmed, Slow, or Mute. Obviously, this means he would be either an easy boss or a bait-and-switch.
I discovered a wonderful game called UnderTale. A child tumbles into a ruin full of puzzles and monsters. Some are friendly and talk to him/her. Some are mean and attack him/her. It has a very interesting battle system.
It is only a demo so far, but it is wonderful. I won’t spoil anything for you, although the first picture is one of the things you can say to Toriel.
Alternate Design: Lugia
Inspired by the RE-DEX Initiative. I drew inspiration from sea snakes and flying fish. The limbs were replaced with fins to emphasize the fact that Lugia is Ho-Oh’s counterpart as Guardian of the Seas. And hey, if Gyrados and Rayquaza can fly with a serpentine body…
A couple pieces of character design doodles in regards to working out how a MLP character would be dressed and how their wings move.
Candy Land characters
Sometimes I can’t help but wonder how board games would work in other game genres, like for example Candy Land the RPG, Monopoly the Racing Game, or Chutes And Ladders: First Person Horror.
… great, now I want to work out a feasible Candy Land RPG concept.
I recently tried out a demo of a MLP fan game called “War of Harmony.” I never read the fic its based on, but the game looks very promising.
One of the first things you fight are ghosts, so I doodled what I think a ghost pony would look like.
